TERMS OF SERVICES
At NAT Services, we take the handling of your belongings seriously. Proper preparation, clear communication, and thorough planning are the foundation of every successful move or service we provide. We encourage all customers to understand their rights and responsibilities before scheduling service by reviewing our terms below, as well as the guidelines provided by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Our goal is to ensure a smooth, transparent, and stress-free experience from start to finish.
Insurance of Items
At NAT Services, we handle your belongings with care and professionalism. In the unlikely event that damage occurs due to our negligence, customers are still responsible for paying their full balance for the move.
NAT Services complies with all state requirements regarding valuation coverage. By law, negligent damage to a customer’s belongings is reimbursed at 60 cents per pound, based on the item’s actual weight at the time of the move.
If you need to file a claim for any missing or damaged items, it must be submitted within 24 hours of your move.
Protect your items:
Unless we agreed on packing services prior, the customer is to have everything packed, boxed, sealed, and ready to go. If the customer’s items are not protected, wrapped, boxed, or sealed when we arrive, extra charges will apply, or the client will be responsible for taking these items in their personal vehicle. If these items go on our truck and are overlooked by our teams, NAT Services assumes zero liability for these items if damage were to occur. Items included, but not limited to: TVs, Peloton Screens, computer screens, any exercise equipment screens, vacuums, loose glass, glass tables, art, pictures, mirrors, lamps, lampshades, knick-knacks, vases, china, stone tops on furniture, statues, etc.
NAT Services Moving Company is not liable for potential damage to any of these fragile items if they are not protected, wrapped, boxed, and sealed. Stone items, statues, marble, granite, and anything made of stone should be packed in professional crates by a 3rd party. Bumps in the road or any sudden bumpy movement or shifting of the load can crack these items, so they need to be professionally crated to move safely. NAT Services Moving Company isn’t liable for any item we didn’t pack unless we are negligent and drop the box or piece. Mattresses should be put in our thick 3 mil mattress bags if the customer wants to keep them white and in pristine condition. We can provide mattress bags for a small additional cost or put them on if the customer provides them on the day of the move.
Furniture
All dressers, nightstands, desks, or any furniture with drawers must be completely emptied before we can wrap and move them. Leaving items inside drawers can cause stress on legs, sliders, and internal hardware. NAT Services is not responsible for damage to drawer mechanisms or furniture legs unless the item is physically dropped due to our negligence.
Any furniture with mirrored surfaces or fragile finishes must be disclosed to us prior to moving day. These pieces require special handling and preparation. Customers must remove all knobs/handles and properly package these items before our team arrives. If mirror-finished furniture is not pre-packed, NAT Services cannot be held liable for any damage.
Floors, Stairs and Carpet:
NAT Services Moving will not move anything up or down more than 3 flights of stairs without special approval and or specific details being agreed upon prior to the move date. If a customer has hardwood floors or any flooring material that can scratch, the customer is required to protect their floors and stairs. The customer is to have coasters under all furniture legs, protection on wood stairs/floors, protection on new or light color carpeting, and protection in other high traffic areas with soft floors.
Wood stairs are very challenging to maneuver with large furniture so they must be protected/padded well. It rains frequently in Florida and asking our team to take their shoes on/off and move furniture is dangerous and increases the chance of injury. Home Depot and Lowe’s both sell paper, self-adhesive plastic, rubber material and other solutions to protect sensitive floors. Big Man’s Moving has 1 runner in each truck to protect the front entry area which is the highest traffic area in the home.
Storage Unit Moves
For moves going into storage, customers are responsible for providing adequate moving blankets to properly protect their furniture. While NAT Services provides stretch wrap, stretch wrap alone does not protect against dents, scratches, or pressure damage.
If proper blankets are not supplied, NAT Services cannot assume liability for any resulting damage. We do provide blankets per request prior to arrival
Because storage units often require items to be stacked vertically or placed on their side, NAT Services is not responsible for impression or weight-related damage to couches, chairs, or similar furniture. The best way to avoid this is by selecting a large enough storage unit so items can sit flat without anything placed on top.
If another moving company removes the items from storage after NAT Services placed them inside, that company becomes fully responsible for the condition of the items at the time of removal.
We recommend climate-controlled storage whenever possible. NAT Services is not liable for damage caused by heat, humidity, or other Florida weather conditions when customers use non-climate-controlled units.
Appliances
NAT Services is not responsible for mechanical issues, leaking valves, electrical problems, or any pre-existing or post-move conditions involving washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, or other household appliances.
For safety and liability reasons, our team does not disconnect or reconnect appliances. Washers and dryers must be unstacked and fully disconnected prior to our arrival. If we are asked to move stacked units, the customer waives all liability, as NAT Services did not install or secure the stacking hardware.
Because appliances are not shipped in their original protective packaging, minor scratches or scuffs can occur even when padded and wrapped. NAT Services is not liable for such cosmetic damage.
Refrigerators must have at least 3 inches of clearance to safely pass through doorways. If clearance is insufficient, customers must remove handles or doors prior to the move. If the refrigerator is moved without these adjustments, the customer assumes all responsibility for any damage to the appliance or property.
Additional fees may apply for appliance handling. Refrigerators cannot be moved up or down stairs
Payment Terms:
All balances for moving services must be paid in cash or upon completion of the move unless other arrangements are approved in advance. We do accept Cash app etc. with services fees applied to total.
Billing time begins upon our team’s arrival and continues until payment is completed. If we are required to wait for the customer to arrive, locate keys, access the property, or go to the bank, the hourly clock continues running.
Partial or withheld payment is not permitted. Full payment is required at the end of each job.
